atvTools is a tool that runs between your phone and your TV. This page explains the little it collects, why, and what it never touches.

If the app crashes, an anonymous report is sent through Firebase Crashlytics so the bug can be fixed. No account, no personal data, no usage tracking.

What the app does with your TV
atvTools connects to your Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV over Android Debug Bridge (ADB) on your local network. Everything you do in the app — installing apps, transferring files, typing text, mirroring or recording the screen, running shell commands, reading device information — happens directly between your phone and your TV.
Files, screenshots, recordings and text you send or receive are stored only on your phone and your TV. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. The app has no accounts and no cloud component.
Data the iOS app collects
None. The iOS version of atvTools (iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision) contains no analytics, advertising or crash‑reporting libraries. We receive nothing from it. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms.
Data the Android app collects
The Android version of atvTools uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to report crashes. When the app crashes, Crashlytics sends a report containing:
- the crash stack trace and the app version;
- basic device information such as the phone model, operating system version, free memory and disk space, and whether the device is rooted or jailbroken;
- a randomly generated installation identifier used to count how many installations are affected. It is not linked to you, your Google account or your TV.
Crash reports contain no names, e‑mail addresses, IP addresses stored by us, TV contents, files, commands you typed, or anything from the ADB session. We use them for one purpose: finding and fixing bugs. Reports are retained by Firebase for 90 days. How Google processes this data is described in the Firebase privacy documentation.
The Android app is free with advertising and offers a premium unlock as an in‑app purchase. Ads and purchases are delivered by Google Play services under Google's privacy policy; we do not receive personal data from them.
Permissions the app asks for
Every permission is used only for the feature it names, and only while you use that feature: local network access to find and talk to your TV; storage or photo access to pick files to install or upload and to save screenshots and recordings; microphone access for voice input and for recording with your phone's microphone; notification access (media control on older TVs and on iOS) to show what is playing. None of these send data to us.
Children
atvTools is a utility for managing TV devices and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Your choices
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. If you do not want crash reports sent from the Android app, uninstalling the app stops them. Questions or requests: tvdevv@gmail.com.

If the way the app handles data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
